Role Essence In this function, you will conceptualize, create, and uphold a variety of technical documentation, covering API documentation, user manuals, how-to guides, troubleshooting articles, and internal knowledge base entries. The focal point involves articulating intricate software features in a manner accessible to individuals possessing varying technical proficiencies. We anticipate you taking ownership of the documentation lifecycle, commencing from requirements gathering through authoring, publication, and subsequent maintenance.

Essential Functions

  • Craft and refine technical documents, catering to both end-users and internal staff.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to grasp system functionalities.
  • Create detailed API documentation with code samples and explanations.
  • Uphold documentation standards for consistency and clarity.
  • Solicit user feedback to pinpoint areas necessitating clarification or expansion.
  • Contribute to the structuring and updating of the information architecture of the documentation repository.
  • Participate in regular documentation reviews to ensure the highest quality of outputs.
  • Adapt to changes in software updates, implementing these adjustments accurately in new documentation.

Required Competencies

  • A background in computer science, technical communications, or related disciplines provides a solid academic background. A portfolio that showcases exemplary communication skills and documentation management is essential.
  • Proven proficiency in writing and technical documentation, preferably in a SaaS setting, highlighting your practical knowledge.
  • Skill in utilizing markup languages (e.g., Markdown, reStructuredText) and documentation tools (e.g., Sphinx, Read the Docs), demonstrating your ability to generate precise outputs.
  • Competence in elucidating intricate technical notions succinctly, demonstrating your flair for explaining.
  • A flair for learning new technologies promptly and an approach of teamwork that will enable seamless cooperation within diverse environments. You need to showcase experience with code versioning programs, like Git.
